Cultural Exchange

People-to-people contact and cultural cooperation are important ways of increasing Norway’s points of contact with Vietnamese society. Cooperation between Norwegian and Vietnamese cultural institutions and groups is steadily increasing, and support for cultural exchange is an important part of the bilateral relationship.

Around a thousand Vietnamese and international musicians gathered in Hanoi on 23 October to perform a Vietnam premiere of Symphony No. 8 of the famous composer Gustav Mahler. Among the thousand were six participants from Norway. Read more

The continuation of the Transposition program was celebrated with a chamber music concert in Hanoi in the beginning of April. On stage were both professionals from Norway and Vietnamese young aspiring artists. Read more

Cultural exchange is an important part of the bilateral relations between Norway and Vietnam. A visit from the Norwegian Parliament’s Standing Committee on Family and Cultural Affairs included therefore an insight into Vietnamese culture and art, as well as a focus on cooperation projects between Vietnamese and Norwegian artists. Students from Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema created an amazing atmosphere on 23 November 2010 when they performed the famous play Peer Gynt by the celebrated Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen. Read more
