During the visit to Vietnam from the Norwegian Parliament, the Norwegian parliamentarians had the pleasure to meet several local artists, who represent the diversity of the Vietnamese cultural scene.
The program included discussion with the independent artist and curator Mr. Tran Luong, a performance by musicians from the Transposition-program and an Ibsen-play directed by Mr. Le Hung, performed at the National Dramatic Theatre.

During their stay in Vietnam, the Norwegian politicians had ample opportunities to learn more about the different projects where Norwegian and Vietnamese artists cooperate.
Mr. Tran Luong is an independent artist and curator, who curated the Lim Dim exhibition at The Stenersen Museum in Oslo in 2009 to much acclaim. He gave the visiting Norwegian Parliamentarians a unique insight into the contemporary art scene in Vietnam and also presented his ongoing projects where he focuses on art as a form of free expression.

The members of the Standing Committee on Family and Cultural Affairs also attended a performance of “The Wild Duck” by the Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen at the National Dramatic Theatre, where also the director Mr. Le Hung was present.

The director has previously staged several others of Ibsen’s theatre plays in Vietnam.
The visit from the Norwegian Parliamentarians also included a performance by the Lotus String Quartet, which consists of musicians who participate in the Norwegian-Vietnamese Transposition-program.
This program focuses on cooperation projects between leading music institutions in Norway and Vietnam, and aims to build strong ties and mutual exchange of expertise between musicians in both countries.
