Vietnamese Artists participating in the Exhibition LIM DIM in Oslo

Last updated: 02/09/2009 // Six vietnamese artists are invited to Oslo for the opening of the art exhibition LIM DIM at the Stenersen museum 27th of august 2009, in which they participating with art works. The exhibition is a collaboration between "Du store verden"DSV, and Transpositon and will last from 27. August to 4.october.

This exhibition presents a group of new and young artists from Vietnam. The majority of the artists belong to a small and solid group in Hanoi working with installations, performance and video.

The title Lim Dim is Vietnamese for regarding something with eyes partly shut. That`s a way to describe somebody that`s partly asleep, may be in deep thought, possibly studying other people behind cover. The title puts description to a state of being referable to a new and young generation Vietnamese artists with small recognition in their home country. Rather, this generation is about to raise attention on the international visual arts arena.

Curator for the exhibition is Tran Luong. Tran is an artist and has more than anyone contributed to gather creative and current thinking Hanoi artists into a group enviroment. He`s an internationally profiled artist and a heavy exponent for Vietnamese comtemporary art. Over the last ten years, he has also caught international attention as a curator.

The exhibition presents 15 artists all togehter. The curator and five of the artists will be in Oslo some time ahead and for the opening of the exhibition.
