Bi-langual books: Fridtjof Nansen and Knut Hamsun

A serie of five books with short stories about Norwegian writers and their works, and famous Norwegians are published bi-langual in Vietnamese and English. The book gives short, but interesting insight to Norewgians life and work and about Norway. Among the Vietnamese-English books from Gioi Publisher are "Growth of the Soil" by Knut Hamsun and "Fridtjof Nansen".

05/01/2007 :: "Fridtjof Nansen" is a fascinating story about Fridtjof Nansen's life (1861 - 1930), journey to the North Pole and his humanitarian work. Nansen was a scientific researcher, discoverer, diplomat and he wrote many books. Fridtjof Nansen got the Nobel's Peace Prize in 1922 for his humanitarian work.

Knut Hamsun's (1859-1952) "Growth of the soil" was first published in 1917. Hamsun wrote many books that is still popular. The Growth of the soil is written in a romantic style, and is a praise, written as a roman, to farming and new settlement. The story is about human relationship with the land and among humans. Knut Hamsun was avarded with the Nobel's Literature Prize for the book Growth of the Soil in 1920.
