Good Governance

Capacity building in local government, popular participation, grassroots democracy, transparency and accountability are values that are given attention in Norwegian funded activities. Investments must be based on the fundamental set of values embodied in the concept of human rights. Norway supports several projects which aims to improve good governance :

Anti - Corruption Program Government Inspectorate (GI)

The Norwegian Embassy in Hanoi is strongly committed to anti - corruption work, and is among the 5 donors working with the Anti - Corruption Program Government Inspectorate (GI). The program aims to build an ethical, strong and modern inspectorate system, and includes studies, drafting of legal documents, coordination mechanisms for prevention and fight against anti - corruption. As such, it aims to improve the effectiveness in the anti - corruption work.

Promoting Sound Industrial Relations at the Workplace 

On this project, Norway is cooperating with International Labor Organisation (ILO), which will be the executing agency to manage the project with the government and local partners. The overall goal of the project is to strenghten the capacity of industrial relations of state agencies, social partners and the private sector. More specifically, it aims at improving collective bargaining institutions and processes, by assisting the government in modernizing legal framework in labor legislation and industrial relations services.
